Mr. Li Junfeng is former director of National Center for Climate Change Strategy andInternational Cooperation and he currently serving as a researcher of NCSC.
He wins NinthAnnual Zayed Future Energy Prize Lifetime Achievement Award in January of the year 2017.He also is a member of National Energy Advisory Council, a member of Expert-committee ofNational High-tech Program, a member of National Environmental Scientific Committee, amember of Expert-committee of National Energy Administration Energy Internet, etc. And, healso serves as a consultant of low carbon development for Beijing, Shanghai and ShanxiProvincial People’s Government. Meanwhile, he is invited to be the professor and doctoralsupervisor by Peking University and Renmin University and other colleges and universities ofChina.
From 2011 to 2016, Mr. Li used to serve as the Director General of National Center for ClimateChange Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC). From 1982 to 2011, Mr. Li hasdedicated his nearly three decades career life worked in Energy Research Institute of Nationa lDevelopment and Reform Commission (NDRC) and used to serve as the Deputy Director General of ERI and the Chair of the Academic Committee of ERI for more than 10 years.
The major publications of his, are National Low Carbon Energy Strategy Study, Climate Issues in China, Renewable Energy Development Strategy in China, Wind power 12, etc. And he has been the chief leader author for the development of Chinese Renewable Energy Law and the IPCC second, third and fourth assessment reports.

Gao Hu, a researcher, acts as the director of Energy Economy and Development Strategy Center, Energy Research Institute of National Development and Reform Commission. He mainly works on the research of technical economy, industry policies and strategic plans for renewable energy resources. He is the main drafter of Renewable Energy Development Plan of the “13th Five-year Plan” and Renewable Energy Development Plan of the “12th Five-year Plan”.

Sandra Retzer

In the past 20 years - after getting a diploma in Business Studies as well as a diploma in Chinese language studies - Ms. Retzer has been primarily based in Germany and China working for different transnational companies in large-scale infrastructure, airport, renewable energy and energy storage projects. Her work has given her vast opportunities to travel and she has had the privilege of working on projects in more than 20 countries in the past two decades.
Before joining GIZ, Sandra Retzer served as Managing Director Asia-Pacific of Younicos AG, a German company specialized in the management of battery energy storage technologies and systems for a stable power supply from renewable sources.
Currently, Sandra Retzer also serves as the National Chair of the Energy Working Group of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China. The group has been proactively engaging Chinese and European policymakers on policies, regulations, and standards and market development. Ms Retzer is also a member of several advisory boards related to Chinese-European demo projects.
Since September 2014, Sandra Retzer works for Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer
Internationale Zusammenarbeit (giz) GmbH, an organisation implementing international sustainable development projects for the German Government. She is responsible for Sino-German policy dialogues and technical cooperation projects in the field of energy, electro mobility, low carbon transport and sustainable urbanisation.

WANG Jiye

Wang Jiye, professor senior engineer, doctoral supervisor, is the Vice President of China Electric Power Research Institute and Executive Vice Chairman of Electric Energy Replacement Industry Development Promotion Alliance. He has long been engaged in the application research and industrial practice of electric power information and communication technology. He is responsible for many research topics in energy Internet, smart power consumption, big data application and other fields.

Zhu Jizhong, male, obtained his doctorate from School of Electric Engineering of Chongqing University in February 1990. He served as a professor in Chongqing University in the early 1990s. He has won seven provincial or ministerial awards for scientific and technological advancement from State Education Commission, etc. He was awarded “China’s Illustrious Young Scientist” by The Royal Society of the UK and China Association for Science and Technology and elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society in 1994. He served as a visiting professor in Britain’s Brunel University for one year in 1995. In early 1996, he won the Fifth Fok Ying Tung Education Foundation Awards for Young University Teachers, and he was selected as the Advanced Individual of the Eighth Five-Year Plan Period and the National Representative of Outstanding Returned Overseas Talents. He was named “A Rising Star of Science and Technology” by China’s Science and Technology Daily in 1993 and by America’s The Washington Chinese Post in 1998. From June 1996 to late 2015, he worked as a researcher in National University of Singapore, a researcher in Howard University in the US, a senior chief engineer of electric system in Alstom successively, and he was a fellow of Alstom’s Global Expert Committee.
In the end of 2015, he returned to China as a part of The Recruitment Program of Global Experts and began to work for Scientific Research Institute of China Southern Power Grid. Currently, he works as the responsible person of the grid economy operation team in Scientific Research Institute of China Southern Power Grid, a part-time professor and doctoral supervisor of Chongqing University, a fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), a member of Technical Committee of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Power and Energy Society (PES) Smart Building, Loads, and Customer Systems (SBLCS), the Chairman of IEEE PES Subcommittee of Power Capacity, an editorial board member for international journals such as Journal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy (MPCE) and International Journal of Engineering Pedagogy (IJEP), and an editor-in-chief of the special supplements of the journals. He has been engaged in the research and engineering practice in the fields of power system operation and control, renewable energy utilization, smart power grid, and power market for years. He has presided or participated in over 20 international large-scale electric power projects. He has published more than 200 papers in international journals and on significant academic conferences. He also published four books in English (IEEE, Wiley, etc.) as the sole writer, among which Optimization of Power System Operation published by Wiley-IEEE Press in 2009 was rated as “Excellent Works” by IEEE and was reprinted in 2015.

Xu Xiaohui (born in 1981, male, PhD，senior engineer and a senior member of IEEE). Xu previously worked at Electric Power Research Institute of Jiangxi Province , Power Distribution and Utilization Division of State Grid Electric Power Research Institute , and Power Utilization and Energy Efficiency Division of China Electric Power Research Institute . Currently he works at the New Energy Research Center of China Electric Power Research Institute . He was the editor-in-chief of multiple books such as An Introduction of Smart Grid, Smart Technology on Power Utilization, and Technology on Battery Charging and Changing for Electric Vehicles and participated in the developing of various IEC international standards and national standards such as TS62898-2 Micro-grid Operation and Control Technology and TC8/PT 62786 Technology on Energy and Power Grid Interconnection at the Supply Side. He has been in charge of multiple national scientific and technological projects and won a number of awards for scientific and technological progress. Mr. Cao Yin is the chief architect of Energy Blockchain Lab. He also acts as an external consultant in a number of well-known energy and Internet enterprises including Tencent Research Institute and Ant Financial Research Institute.
Mr. Cao Yin is one of early raisers of Energy Internet concept in China. He has participated in the definition of Energy Internet in China, and taken part in the preparation and promotion of China Internet Plus Smart Energy Action Plan as the member of the research group and the leader of the sub research group.
Mr. Cao Yin has compiled the Research on Energy Internet Development and Introduction to Energy Internet, coauthored Internet Plus: National Strategic Action Roadmap together with Ma Huateng, set up the first energy blockchain lab as a founding partner, promoted the participation of Energy Blockchain Lab in Hyperledger Project and Linux Foundation as the first industrial blockchain research institute in the world, and been committed to promoting the application of blockchain technology in the fields of energy and green finance.
